Understanding Your Healthcare Investment
As of 1.11.2025 Ayr Medical Group will bulk bill all government chosen eligible item numbers. These include face to face, phone ‘consultation item numbers’, management plans and mental health consultations and plans.
Please note: Not all services are covered by Medicare. Some services will attract a private fee OR out of pocket expense.
If you do not have a Medicare card your service will be privately billed. For further information contact our reception staff on 47839100.
Doctor Discretion
All fees and booking schedules are at each doctor's discretion. This allows personalised care while maintaining professional standards.
Fee Variations
Fees may vary slightly and are subject to change. Current fees are available at the time of booking or by contacting reception.
Non-Attendance Policy
Failure to cancel appointments will attract a non-attendance fee. Please cancel unwanted appointments to avoid charges.

Private Fees
Private fees may be incurred for item numbers not included in the eligible item list. Patients may incur out of pocket expenses. Please check with reception for approximate costs when booking your appointment.

New Patient Consultations
Ayr Medical Group welcomes new patients. Patients to bring along a health summary from their previous clinic to first consultation is advised. Must bring medicare card to enable bulk billing if applicable. Patients without a medicare card will be privately billed.

PRIVATE FEE APPOINTMENTS
Private fee appointments offer several advantages including generally much shorter wait times and greater flexibility in scheduling.
Out of Pocket Expenses Details:
- Not all services are covered by Medicare.
- Some services attract a private fee OR out of pocket expense.
- Out of pocket gap: At discretion of each GP.
- Medicare rebate can be paid directly back to your nominated bank account or immediately with a debit card.

Medicare Eligibility
Most consultations are eligible for Medicare rebates. Specific item numbers and rebate amounts depend on the type and length of consultation.
Rebate Processing:
- Rebates are processed electronically
- Payments go directly to your nominated bank account
- Processing typically takes 2-3 business days
- No need to visit a Medicare office
Online Registration:
- Access your Medicare Online Account or Express Plus Medicare mobile app
- Check that Ayr Medical Group is registered in MyMedicare
- Start the registration process
- Practice staff will accept the registration in the system
In-Person Registration:
- Complete a registration form available from reception
- Signing gives consent to participate in MyMedicare
- Practice staff complete the registration process
