Standard Consultations

These appointments offer mixed billing options with fees at the discretion of each doctor. Suitable for routine consultations and ongoing care needs.

Private Fee Appointments

Private fee appointments are generally available much sooner than standard consultations. Perfect when you need to see a doctor quickly or prefer guaranteed availability.

Bulk Billing Appointments

Available Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings for Medicare rebateable services, though availability may vary by preferred doctor or time slot.

Emergency Appointments

Emergency appointments don't require advance booking. However, when routine appointments are filled, urgent cases are referred to registered nurses for assessment.

After-hours assistance is available via the GP helpline by calling 1800 022 222, or through our on-call doctor service for urgent medical care.

APPOINTMENT POLICIES

Understanding our appointment policies helps ensure you receive the best possible care with minimal delays.

Appointment Duration

Standard appointments are scheduled at 10-minute intervals.

If you think you will require more time, please ask the receptionist when making your appointment to ensure adequate consultation time.

Long Consultations Available

Extended appointments can be arranged when needed. Please request a longer consultation when booking if your situation requires additional time for comprehensive assessment and discussion.

Cancellation Policy

Please provide adequate notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Failure to cancel will attract a non-attendance fee and helps us offer that time to other patients who need care.

When Your Preferred Doctor Isn't Available

From time to time, patients may be unable to book with their preferred doctor. When this occurs, every effort will be made to accommodate you with another doctor at Ayr Medical Group.

All doctors in the practice have access to your medical records. Consider having a second preference to avoid disappointment and reduce waiting times.

Please arrive a few minutes early for your appointment to complete any necessary paperwork, especially if you're a new patient.
